Happy Fireworks Day!!

[Walter is yelling and he doesn't care. This day celebrates with one of the most awesome chemistry achievements ever and he's going to have fun.

He sets the journal down and gleefully runs back a few meters until he's in the middle of the Flame Building rooftop where he's set up a sizeable display of fireworks hobbled together from different things, mixed in with ones he's found at the stores leading up to today.

He also has no cares to give that it's just past 7AM on July 4th. Whatever, losers, get out of bed.

He lights a large cylinder and runs off camera until it erupts sparks and shoots lines of brightly colored fire into the air accompanied by booming noises.]

Haha!! Excellent! I knew it would work!

[Walter runs back and speaks excitedly at the book, even if the camera is focused on the firework erupting.]

I'm making hot dogs on the roof! Everyone come get some! And come blow things up with me. Even if you're not American, this holiday is good fun,

Oh! I'm on the Flame Building, but I shouldn't be hard to find.

[There's another large boom and he jumps, then laughs as sparks shoot across the rooftop toward him.]

[Eley enjoyed fireworks, so a day celebrating them was definitely something to be pleased about! However, he had to wonder exactly why today was a special occasion for them. Fireworks were quite common on other days too after all...

And what on earth was he talking about, 'making hot dogs?']

How exactly are you making these... hot dogs. And for what purpose? Is it not cruel? [Wait a minute, his eyes widen as he realises just what the man said.] You are not 'blowing up' these dogs, are you?

Wait, you have a holiday... just to celebrate fireworks?

[Oh yes, he is going to naturally assume that the holiday is called "Fireworks Day."

He pauses momentarily before a gapingly huge grin appears on his face.]

BEST. HOLIDAY. EVER!

[While the idea of a holiday meant just for fireworks sounds kinda cool... Zuko is a bit horrified at the "misfire".

First Wan tries to burn down the bakery and their house, now this guy is going crazy with fireworks? ... Maybe an expert should be over there to make sure he doesn't burn down the entire village.

Thus Zuko shows up.]

You should be careful with those. You could seriously hurt someone.

[Seriously? Harry's giving the journal a bit of a blank, tired stare.] Those work better at night.

I think I should like to blow things up very much.

[he would have been annoyed and angry about being woken up... But.. FIREWORKS.]

Oh boy! That sure looks like a lot of fun!

It's a holiday?

[He still has a lot to learn]

Fireworks get a holiday?

[Steve is already awake and returned from his morning run when he sees Walter's entry. He remembers the man from the brief encounter they had over the journal. The man who thought Loki was a figment of his imagination. For a moment he thought about ignoring the invitation and cracking open a beer to celebrate. But it is his birthday. And he doesn't want to spend it alone.

Plus he loves fireworks.

So twenty minutes later, after changing clothes, he makes his way to the roof of their building.]

You know, I really don't think anyone in the village is going to have a problem finding you.

[Where there's 'fire', Isaac is rarely far.

Being stranded in Luceti and brought closer here to humans than he has been all his life has introduced him to some of their customs. And while he doesn’t much care for the majority of them, the invitation to have a part in celebratory destruction is a difficult one to refuse. He eyes the responses of others curiously before appearing on the roof, phasing into existence in a burst of light and demonic energy.]

At last… [Isaac clasps his leather-gloved hands together, glancing about.] ...a man after my own heart.

[The more he thinks about it, the more a hot dog and some fireworks sounds like an excellent idea after his typical early-morning jog around the village even though he feels a strong pang of gut-churning homesickness at the thought. Being back at the heart building when he catches the invitation means he takes the time to shower before swinging by, although by the time he reaches the site of the 'party' he has already sweat through his pink hoodie. Oh well.]

Hey... [He offers a somewhat breathless greeting, extending the bag of barbeque chips and plastic bowl in hand.] I brought a' bag a' chips if anybody wants.

[Don't mind the quiet guy over in a lawn chair, as full of life as a statue, ready to step out of reality and back in again if they need a fire extinguisher. Odds are high they will, he thinks.]

[He likes popsicles.]

You really don't want to know how hot dogs are made, my-- Whatever you are.

[He really can't tell if this is a boy or a girl actually.]

And no, I'm grilling the hot dog and blowing up chemical compounds!

Technically, I don't, but nearly every culture in the world has some form of holiday with fireworks as their main attraction.

Today is the celebration of a country's independence, and so, FIREWORKS!

[Walter doesn't seem too scared of the scorch mark close to him. He loves when science goes a little awry and there was nothing especially dangerous about the flare of blue and red that nearly caught him. He was fine now, so all was good.

He turned and waved to the newcomer.]

I'm perfectly safe, I assure you. Are you here for the hot dogs?

But the celebration runs all day. Besides, you can't grill hot dogs at night. It's too dark.

Loki! Yes, come! I'm making hot dogs and September should be here. I think. Somewhere. He's never where you think he is.

But come! Let's explode fireworks!

Mickey! Come up! It's a great deal of fun and even more so when you're the one lighting the fuses!

[Of course that doesn't cross Eley's mind at all and he assumes Walter just doesn't know what kind of being he is instead. He raises a hand and places it on his chest, realising introductions might be in order.]

Ah, I am Eleytheria, a Wind Spirit. Though I know that I appear human before you at this time.

[His hand drops as he continues their previous discussion.]

I... do want to know how they are made. I am curious, could you explain?

Yes! It's the day of America's independence - or rather, the signing of the declaration.

But the important thing is that there is fireworks, so yes!

I'm on my way! Save one for me!

[He hadn't expected to the see the man from the journals again. He knows he's seen him somewhere, but Walter can't quite place him.

But that's never stopped Walter from being friendly before. He smiles wide when the man enters the roof and waves him over.]

Good! What's the point of having a party if no one knows where you are?

[Normally, someone appearing out of nowhere would freak him out, but he lives with September now and instead he just claps at the display. He always will be fascinated by how people do that. Whether it's genetics or technology or something else entirely, it's always fascinating.]

Bravo! Yes, I'm glad to see more people here! Do you like fireworks? Or hot dogs?

Well, hello there!

[Water turns and waves, the hot dogs roasting on the open grill in front of him, and waves the barbeque fork he's using to turn them. More people he doesn't know, but that rarely bothers him these days.]

That's wonderful! Set them over there by the condiments and buns. Homemade ketchup is the best, you know.

September!

[Walter is waving from the grill, happy to see his friend participating, even if he's just sitting to the side. It was encouraging to see September out. And eating popsicles.

Plus, September is good for fire control.]

Come see the grill!

I'll save more than one, my friend. I have enough for the entire day!
