It would be lovely if that were possible. I was affected like this once, without dying. When I got caught by a collapsing portal. I spent four months deaf.

The effects can be reverse eventually, if one asks the Malnosso nicely enough.

If they have the ability to reverse what is done, then we should also be able to, should we not? Somehow - it's not magic, but science that they base their work on. It has to be possible.

In theory, yes. We have not yet discovered the method, however. It doesn't help that the barrier dampens abilities as well.

I was unfortunately not conscious when they fixed my hearing, so I haven't the foggiest what they did.

It cannot dampen mental abilities, yes? Then I have a chance of working it out, as should September.

And with your added brilliance, we can determine a trigger - something that has changed besides your hearing. Perhaps something to do with impulses in the brain?

We can certainly work on the problem. We've a better chance of figuring it out than anyone else, to be certain.
